Special Event and Program
Marilyn Adams Coming to Los Angeles!
The Rev. Dr. Marilyn McCord Adams, Regius Professor of Divinity at
Oxford University and Episcopal priest from the Diocese of Los Angeles
will be in Los Angeles for a number of events:
SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 10:00 am: Marilyn will preach at St.
Alban's Westwood
SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 4:00 pm: Marilyn will deliver the
Bishop Barrett Lecture at St. Alban's Westwood, on "The Relation of the
U.S. Episcopal Church to the Anglican Communion." Reception to follow.

Marilyn's Lecture
TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 4:00 pm: Marilyn and her husband Bob (former
UCLA Philosophy professor and Presbyterian minister) will lead a
colloquium on the relationship between Abrahamic faiths. Attendance will
be by invitation.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 4:00 pm: Bob will give a lecture on
"Religions and Virtues" at UCLA Public Policy 1246. Reception to follow,
hosted by the UCLA Center for the Study of Religion.
The Bishop Barrett Lecture, in honor of the Right Rev. George
Barrett, is a regular event hosted by St. Alban's Episcopal Church,
Westwood. The remaining events of the Adams UCLA Tour are
co-sponsored by St. Alban's, the Episcopal Campus
Ministry @ UCLA (Canterbury Westwood
Foundation), the University Religious Conference (UCLA), The Center for
the Study of Religion (UCLA), the UCLA Department of Philosophy, and the
University Presbyterian Church.

Weekly Adult Education & Programs
The following events take place in the Upper Lounge unless otherwise
noted. All are welcome.
The Adult Forum meets on Sundays from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.
This group is studying the Gospel of Luke using a commentary by N.T.
Wright, Bishop of Durham.
A Christian Covenant Class meets after church on the Sundays
of October. This is for new members and those wishing to renew their
faith.
A Kerygma Bible Study course for those wishing to learn more
about Scripture meets
Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. The curriculum, developed for adults,
explores both historical and theological issues, and how our faith is
shaped by the Biblical narratives. Contact the rector for more
information.
Two different small groups meet Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.
and
Fridays at 1:00 p.m.

Weekday Eucharist Wednesdays at Noon
We have a service of Holy Eucharist with prayers for healing each
Wednesday at 12:00 noon in the chapel. All are welcome to join us.
