St. Alban's
Choir in concert
About Music at St. Alban's
Music at St. Alban's, our annual series of concerts and festival
services, was begun in the fall of
1969 by James Vail when he was appointed organist and choirmaster
of St. Alban's. Since then we have performed some 125 major choral
works, many of them several times. These works reflect the highest
artistic quality, great diversity in style from all historical periods,
and music created for the glory of God and the edification and
inspiration of performers and listeners alike.
These programs have been made possible through the remarkable
dedication, talent and enthusiasm of the members of St. Alban's Choir
(all volunteers except for the four professional soloists), the
contribution of many gifted vocal and instrumental soloists, orchestral
players, guest conductors and guest choirs, the strong support of our
clergy and vestry, and the generous financial
support of contributors to our Concert Fund.
Concert Fund
We continue to be dependent upon your generosity for our concert
series. Suggested giving amounts are listed in the categories below. We
shall, of course, gladly accept any amount you are able to give. Names
of all persons contributing will be listed on all major concert
programs.
Those who contribute in the categories below will receive the
indicated number of passes. Each pass admits two persons to the
concerts indicated above by an asterisk without making a further
donation.
