St. Alban's enjoys the dedicated services of clergy, staff
members and volunteers who help fulfill our mission. They include:
The Rev'd Susan Webster Klein, Rector
The Rev'd Susan Webster Klein began her tenure as St.
Alban's fourth rector in September 2004, after previously serving for
fourteen years as rector at St. Aidan's, Malibu. She began her ministry
in St. Louis at Christ Church Cathedral, and then served as Episcopal
Chaplain at the University of California, Irvine and Associate at St.
Andrew’s, Irvine. She holds a Master of Divinity degree from Yale
University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheaton College in
Massachusetts. She is involved with the Neighborhood Youth Association
in Venice and the Alumnal Board at Yale Divinity School. She has
published sermons in Preaching Through the Year, Sermons That
Work (vol. 9, 10, 11 - Morehouse Publishing).Susan
has one daughter, Sarah,
A graduate from New York University.
Susan enjoys swimming, hiking, and is a fervent knitter.
The Rev'd Warner Traynham, Assisting Priest

Warner retired as Rector of
St. John’s LA in 2001, after a tenure of 18 years and is
currently assisting on alternate Sundays at
St. Alban’s and
Holy Faith Parish in Inglewood Ca.
He is
a graduate of Dartmouth College, class of ’57 and The
Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria Va., class of ’61.
He began his ministry as assistant at St. James , Baltimore. From
there he served as Vicar of St. Philip’s
mission in Annapolis Md.
After that he was Associate
Episcopal Chaplain at
Harvard and Radcliff, Rector of
St. Cyprian’s
Parish in Roxbury Mass. and then
Director of Black Studies for the
Boston Theological Institute. At that time he
wrote "Christian
Faith in Black and
White: A primer in Theology from the Black
Perspective".
He
served as Dean of the Tucker Foundation and Chaplain at his
alma Mater,
Dartmouth College, in
Hanover NH for
nine years and then moved to
Los Angeles
as
Rector of St John’s. He served twice as president of the
Standing Committee
as well as on numerous committees and
commissions of the Diocese.
He is
married to Jocelyn P. Traynham and they have four adult children. He
has
published in several Religious and Library Periodicals. In
addition to assisting at
St. Alban’s and Holy Faith, Warner
currently writes, paints and goes regularly to
the gym.
The Rev'd Norman Y. Ishizaki, Rector Emeritus
Father Norm became St. Alban's third
rector in 1973 after serving for five years as assistant. Upon his
retirement in September 2002 after some thirty years as rector, the
Vestry named him Rector Emeritus.
The Rev. Glenn Libby, Episcopal Chaplain to U.C.L.A
The Rev. Glenn M. Libby, Ph.D., has served fourteen years as Episcopal
Chaplain at the USC after
one year as Associate Chaplain. In addition to his
pastoral experience with
teenagers and young adults, he holds an M.B.A. in
management and brings to
the ministry sixteen years of high-level corporate
experience in project and
budget management. In May 1995 he was awarded
a Master of Divinity
degree (summa cum laude) from Yale University. In 2001,
he completed a Ph.D.
degree in Religion and Social Ethics at USC, and for
2002-2004, he held a
faculty appointment in USC's School of Religion. He
serves on the diocesan
Program Group on Ministry in Higher Education. Since
April 2005 he has served
Province Viii of the Episcopal Church as Provincial
Coordinator for Campus
Ministry.
James Taulbee, Minister of Music

Organist/Choirmaster,
James Taulbee, graduated from Westminster Choir
College with degrees in
Church Music and Organ Performance. He was
awarded the Alexander
McCurdy Award in Organ Performance-- the
college's highest and
most prestigious award for an organ student.
His organ teachers
include Charlotte Atkinson, Catharine Crozier, Joan
Lippincott and Cherry
Rhodes.
Mr. Taulbee's formal
studies include choral and hand-bell directing, church
music and children's
choirs. He also holds a Master of Music degree in
Organ Performance from
the University of Southern California. Mr.Taulbee
has served as
Organist-Choirmaster for five different churches in
the Los Angeles area over
the past 30 years.
Nancy John, Parish Administrator
A Native of Los Angeles,
Nancy attended Hope Chapel
in Hermosa Beach as a youth, and is currently attending Cornerstone
Baptist, WLA. She
has been the Administrator at St. Alban's for 10+ years. On her off hours
she is pursuing her music degree and gives guitar lessons to the young and to
the young at heart.
Rudy Marloth, Treasurer
Sonya Nimri, Church School Director
Sonya Nimri is a crafter, author, and educator currently affiliated with
the UCLA family center, in
Santa Monica. A native of Monterey, she now lives in
Venice with her
husband and son, Christopher and Theodore. They attend St. Alban's as a family, and she’s excited to bring her years
of working with kids into
this loving setting.
Lisa Atmodjo, Nursery Attendant/Church School
Teacher
Vivan Hay, Master of Ceremonies
As master of ceremonies,
Vivian
assists the
priest and oversees the acolytes at the 10 a.m. Sunday service. She
also trains new acolytes. A St. Alban's parishioner since 1965, she has
participated in numerous activities, including helping start the monthly
Saturday morning Women's Spirituality group, and is a long-time member of
St. Alban's Choir. A UCLA graduate, she is a
content integration specialist for a publisher.
